Tiger Lily Flower Essence for a Very Good Tiger Year

"'O Tiger-lily,' said Alice, addressing herself to one that was waving gracefully about in the wind, 'I wish you could talk!' 'We can talk,' said the Tiger-lily: 'when there's anybody worth talking to." -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Now there's a typical Tiger Lily personality's response! Tiger Lily flower essence is for people who tend to separate themselves from others in a hostile anti-social manner. Ironically, it might be the perfect remedy to support our society in a Chinese Tiger Year!

People both love and respect tigers but they also fear them. Tigers can be playful and, like domestic cats, are quite affectionate with their young. But they're also ferocious, impulsive and one the most aggressive signs of the Chinese zodiac. They tend to act alone and function best when they are the one and only leader of the pack.

That's all well in good when it comes to competitive sports or some activity requiring such vigor and enthusiasm but what about love and community and cooperative social interaction? That's where a Tiger tends to have a few problems and that's where Tiger Lily flower essence could be of assistance.

Tiger Lily combines the more feminine forces more typically associated with lilies —think of the Virgin Mary at Easter time—with the extremely fiery yang energy associated with the Tiger. The result might be thought of as a very strong fiery woman able to harness and channel that power in her female role of nurturing and raising the next generation. Extend that impulse to society as a whole and you'll get the gist of what this flower can do.

It tames the most separatist, aggressive and potentially destructive aspects of the Tiger personality without killing its strength, instincts and power to be in service to the world.

As my husband and I are both Tigers I've really enjoyed your last few posts - so interesting although it's obvious now that I read it on your blog - I had previously never read anything about Tigers having the potential to be aggressive which now seems well, DUH!! namaste, elsie
