Abstract Pastel

On the easel right now... a test piece for something I want to do quite large. I'm experimenting with methods of doing pastels that don't need to be framed. Science experiments, you might say. I think I came up with something that will work last night.

This is a piece based on one of my photographs of grass and sage in the desert. It's about 12" square now as a test but the piece I plan to do will be 30" x 30".
