I bought Lemongrass for my ongoing herb tea experiments. Ginger and Lemongrass is a very popular drink in Thailand. It's also a great addition to all sorts of blends, combining especially well with Lemon Balm, Mint, Rose Petals, Chamomile and Hibiscus.(Very relaxing!) It is said to have numerous health benefits and is used extensively in Ayurvedic medicine.
But you don't have to eat or drink it. Add it to potpourri to freshen your house. Or make your own bodycare products! Add your favorite oil to a jar packed with Lemongrass. (For example, olive oil or jojoba.) Let it marinate in a cool dark place for several weeks, shaking the jar every few days. Then strain the oil into bottles and you'll have Lemongrass-scented oil, wonderful for making all sorts of healthy and delightfully smelling things like shampoo, soap, skincare products and deodorant. It is especially good for cleansing oily skin or hair and, oddly, has great renown as an insect repellant!
