I can't believe I forgot to announce this a month or two ago, but this wonderful yoga and fitness studio in Raleigh, N.C. now carries a nice selection of my most popular flower essence aromatherapy sprays in their gift shop! Evolve Movement offers classes in yoga, Pilates and Gyrotonics. They also offer massage and other bodywork services. Sounds like a great place to me! Be sure to check them out at 219 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC.
Yay! You can now find my most popular flower essence aromatherapy sprays in the wellness department at Chico Natural Foods Cooperative, near the essential oils and other aromatherapy products! Look for "Releasing Worry & Fear", "Restful Nights", and "Soothing the Angry Heart", just past the cash registers as you walk in, in the center aisle of the store on the lefthand side. They have testers so be sure to try them out! The address is 818 Main St, Chico, CA.

When I first started out I envisioned Mama Love in every Whole Foods in the country! (ha ha ha). The problem with that idea, I found out soon enough, is that 1) I don't have the advertising budget to pay for premium shelf space and 2) large grocery stores expect larger returns and do far less to sell your products than the smaller boutiques that typically approach me. Shock of my life was when the Whole Foods-like chain of natural food, health, bath and beauty products in Santa Cruz was horribly disappointed with HIGHER sales than the boutique a few streets away who was ecstatic! Not that size or not being a grocery store matters—one of my stores is a quite large organic food and health-oriented grocery store—but mindset is everything.
WHO BENEFITS MOST BY STOCKING MAMA LOVE
• Places that put a spotlight on health, well-being and personal care products made of all-natural ingredients that are good for you and a pleasure to use. For example, New Earth Market in Chico or Radiance Herbs and Massage in Olympia, WA.
• Places with a customer base that appreciates organic ingredients (see above examples).
• Places that put a spotlight on handmade products (especially from California, the west coast, or the United States). For example, Made in Chico, in my hometown.
• Personal growth and spiritually-oriented businesses like retreat centers, and spiritual bookshop/gift stores with a section of the store devoted to related items (other aromatherapy, bath and beauty products). (Visitors to Esalen, that only has a tiny bookstore, love visiting the Phoenix shop just down the road!)
• Bohemian-style gift and clothing stores with a bath and beauty section. For example, Warm NY in New York City and the Phoenix Shop at Nepenthe in Big Sur.
• Alternative healing practitioners like massage therapists, herbalists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, naturopaths and holistic healing centers or large yoga studios with gift shops. Evolve Movement in Raleigh, North Carolina and Radiance Herbs and Massage are two examples.
WHO DOES BEST SELLING MAMA LOVE
People who try Mama Love, like the concept behind it, place a display or nice selection of sprays at counter height in a good location near other aromatherapy products (or near the checkout counter), and encourage people to use one of the testers and try some.

|Irresistible You Flower Essence Aromatherapy Bath Salts by Mama Love|
This harkens back to my college years when nothing felt more luxurious to me than taking a wonderfully scented bath. But I couldn't afford much so I always splurged (yes, it felt like a splurge) on individual bath packets because I could never make up my mind which scent I wanted. I'd buy 3 different sample sized packets . . and then I'd only use half of one per bath! I do not recommend this—some people use more than one! But now you understand the poverty mindset that's been plaguing me. Mama Love believes in quality ingredients and taking the time to infuse my batches with Reiki and, well, that costs money.
What's great about this product line, though, is that they not only smell wonderful. Like all my Mama Love flower essence aromatherapy products, each choice is designed for specific emotional-healing effects. This one, "Irresistible You," (100% organic) is designed to help you feel irresistible! Confident, relaxed, open to love and feeling lovable, and truly attractive from the inside out.

|Triple Goddess in the 21st Century © 2015 Sheryl Karas|
I used a technique I thought I invented (but I later learned the surrealists experimented with it, too). I scribble with my eyes closed on a piece of paper, get into a meditative state, and try to see if I see anything in the scribbles. Then I draw over what I see so other people can see it, too.
I know I feared something frightening was brewing on the horizon. But I actually had NO idea of what was to come (on a conscious level). Pretty interesting to me now. I also did this one at that same time (But I know I did not need my psychic abilities to see this one coming!):

A few weeks ago I received a special request for a formula for someone having trouble getting themselves to take care of themselves. Things like making a decent dinner, making the bed, getting exercise, doing laundry, applying for jobs, doing various small business tasks, were falling by the wayside. . . even though they knew better. As a flower essence practitioner, I was stumped so I used dowsing techniques and chose:
ALPINE LILY: for honoring yourself as a woman and having a healthier relationship with your body.
DOGWOOD: for ease in living in a body, and for transcending and finding grace despite the traumas attached to physical existence.
LOVE-LIES-BLEEDING: for acceptance and letting go of the pain lodged in physical world experience. Usually this is for grief but it could be used for old experiences of abuse or traumas of a physical sort.
BABY BLUE EYES: for trusting life and feeling at ease with oneself, worthy of emotional support and self-love.
I recognized that these are often used for issues related to disability and physical pain as well as for father issues and issues related to abuse or neglect from outside one's self -- and it disturbed me because, well, it just wasn't what I was expecting! And not only that, I had a nagging feeling — without understanding why—that I needed to at least use the Dogwood because of shoulder and jaw pain I've had for no obvious physical reason for awhile.
Sigh! I know my history, and I was dismayed that this might require dredging it up, but . . .
I decided to give it a try.
So—truth in advertising—at first, I didn't think it did anything! But I used the scented oil formula that smells wonderful with Jasmine, Orange, Ylang Ylang and Vanilla —and I know flower essences should be used over time—so I kept going.
Within a couple of days, a rash I have on and off during my most stressful times appeared in a mild form. Now, I wasn't sure if this was because of the formula or because of Trump! (Anyone with difficult father issues might be feeling a little triggered right now!) So I made a note of that and dropped my use to twice a day—as a body oil right after my morning shower and again before going to bed at night. I thought long-buried feelings might be coming up, and I wanted to slow things down to make the process easier to integrate. (If the rash had gotten really bad, I would have stopped using it altogether for a day or two, but that didn't happen.)
And then, feelings did come up to be released: old grief, as I expected. I used my Healing a Broken Heart dropper bottle formula because it is specific for that, for just 3-4 days, but crying with conscious awareness of the issue or several counseling sessions (if you haven't identified the issues) would have done as well. I also continued using the oil and, after that short time period, the rash disappeared.
In its place came an intense desire to mix my Open-Hearted Loving formula with this one, the one I had been using, that I call Putting Your Needs First. That immediately told me one thing: I was going to be moved to be acting on my deepest heart's desires! (I thought this might have something to do with art -- being a painter -- and, because of that, a flutter of excitement started to stir with my very first use. But I also enjoyed an immediate feeling of relaxation which was very soothing.)
Two weeks later, I am still using both oils, mixed in my hand, half and half, just twice a day after my morning shower and just before going to bed. And now ALL SORTS OF GREAT INTENTIONS I HAVEN'T BEEN ACTING ON ARE WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING!!! Naturally, as if it had nothing to do with these formulas, I spontaneously started to make cold calls for my business—something I KNOW I've needed to do for years (and it wasn't even on my mind as an intention anymore). AND I brought out a canvas and got started on another painting (after having pushed that to the background for a long time as well).
I have my feelings about both of these activities—trust me on that! And I really can't say whether these activities alone will lead to the financial well-being I want (and deserve). But I KNOW I've needed to at least try! So that's what I'm doing—putting my real heart's desires first. And that actually makes a big difference whether my art and Mama Love wind up paying all the bills (which is what I recently haven't dared to want) or—especially—if I wind up taking a job working for someone else. At least, I'm doing what has needed to be done.

While were worrying about Betsy DeVos and the Department of Education, Florida Republican Representative Matt Gaetz introduced bill H.R. 861 to TERMINATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA)!!!! (https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/861) It's gone to committee. Please flood them with calls and postcards protesting this action: House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, 2321 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, DC 20515 • Phone: 202-225-6371 • Fax: 202-226-0113

Paul and I are very busy right now trying to figure out how to support activists on lots of levels: participating by signing petitions, making phone calls and writing postcards, for sure, but also sharing information and inspiration, calls to action, words of encouragement, and keeping our intuition tuned to how to rally the troops in the healthiest ways possible. An odd alternative focus for a spiritual counseling and healing team, but that's where our attention has gone and what we feel most called to do.
I also make flower essence and flower essence with aromatherapy products infused with Reiki and many of my newest products were designed just in the last week for activist support as a response to requests from people on my Facebook friends list. One of the biggest requests was for help dealing with the daunting amount of work dealing with the Trump administration seems to require.
In an earlier post related to those requests, I included the famous image of the kerchiefed WWII female war effort worker with the words "We Can Do It!" on top. That's because we might be involved in a "war effort" now when it comes to the actions required to oppose an alt-right administration. If you're like almost everyone else on my list, you're probably feeling a bit frantic and driven to stay outraged and in action so you can do what has to be done. We appear to be attacked on every front because of a non-stop barrage of Trump executive orders and cabinet appointments designed to rip apart everything we hold dear. It feels like we need SUPERHUMAN strength so we can wield our weapons Jackie Chan-like while fighting off 50 attackers at once.
But there's something else that needs to be done, and it is going to require strength and determination over time. We're doing GREAT work in opposing their actions today, but, I hate to say it, I think we are unlikely to win many of these battles with the Republican majority in control of almost every branch of government. We ARE winning some and we need to win more. Yay! Keep going! I very much doubt Trump will remain in office even a year. But the Republicans, including the alt-right, will be doing so much damage that, with each day and every defeat, they intend us to simply disintegrate. Meanwhile, Trump has been dog-whistling their troops to enact more intense levels of voter suppression and levy their real attacks in the 2018 election and beyond.
But don't despair!
As I'm writing this, I just heard that the New England Patriots pulled out a stunning come-from-behind victory in the last moments of the Superbowl. What a GREAT metaphor for what I want to say. We CAN win this thing over the long haul. But not if we use all our energy up in the first quarter. And in regards to the Trump administration, we've only just begun. They hope we will use our efforts to fight their every move in the present. They hope we exhaust ourselves so we'll neglect to help opposing candidates run for office in the mid-terms, raise the funds to do so, talk to people, register them, and get out the vote! And, as an aside—if we're not doing that—we lose the ability to levy a real threat with teeth against them to make them listen to what we demand right now and over the next four years!
So let's not play their game.
Our resolve and determination needs to shift to the longer view. We protest today to make our voices heard. AND in order to flush out any Republican or neo-Liberal conservative Democrat willing to stand up with us . . . OR get them in our sights for replacement in 2018 and 2020. Our attention needs to shift to something we will be accomplishing AS A TEAM together, step by step, over YEARS to come.
But if we're driven by terror about what we're seeing today, we will burn ourselves out, so back to the healing work that I try to do with my Reiki-infused flower essence products. In particular, the one I made for Resolve and Determination.
I'm embarrassed to say that I almost put this one out without trying it. Because I tend to be SO driven a lot of the time, I feared it might make that feeling worse. But the formula kept nagged at me to try it — I always test my own products— so I did and was blown away! It did not jack me up as I feared it might do. Instead I felt still inside, centered, and strong. Not "fiercely" strong but . . . I'm searching for words . . . ready . . . able . . . sufficient. Calm inner strength. I actually cried because the relief was so palpable. I felt relaxed, at ease, and I experienced a shift in mindset. Instead of "get it done, get it done, you can DO IT, Go, Go, GO!!!!" I moved into a place of "I'm ready, I can do what has to be done, step by step. What I do today is sufficient. I will rise again tomorrow."
And, whether you use my products or not, that is the mindset we need to move into right now.
After several days of experimentation I've decided to change the name of my "Lightening the Soul" flower essence and flower essence with aromatherapy formulas to "Mama Love for the Sensitive Soul." If you're empathic or have become a bit emotionally raw because of this election, this formula can help. I especially noticed a big difference after using it 2-3 days. I've been using the flower essence-only conventional flower essence dropper bottle, but it also is available as a scented or unscented spray or flower essence aromatherapy oil.

I had to put some thought into this because they also requested many different formulas that seemed to be related issues: how to calm down enough to focus, how to be emotionally resilient in the face of new horrors every day, how to have more energy as the enormity of the task appeared to loom so large, and what to do about already being in a state of burnout and exhaustion? So I decided to make all these! (See the previous links)
But I also did one specifically for resolve and determination.
What does it take to have resolve and determination? Wanting something so badly you are intent on overcoming any obstacle in your path! Having patience and acceptance that things usually take longer than we would naturally prefer. Having self-confidence and a positive enough mindset to persist over time. And the inner fortitude and perseverance to keep going as long as it takes. That's what this fundamental flower essence- based formula is for.

Flower essences (and flower essences with aromatherapy added) are a wonderful support for people going through the grief and pain of losing a loved one. But this new formula on my list is also recommended for working with the loss of a cherished home or even a cherished dream. I use Bleeding Heart to help soothe the longing this kind of loss entails. I add Star of Bethlehem, one of the classic Bach remedies used in times of shock, trauma or grief. And Walnut is for dealing with a traumatic transition to help with letting go of how things used to be. It is infused with Reiki healing energy to be the most emotionally beneficial product I can make.
